French texting abbreviations
Just like in English, in French you can abbreviate words and expressions when sending text messages to each other. For some people, this is the bulk of communication that they do. And I’m not entirely sure, but it seems that the French do it more than their counterparts in English. ‘Bis’ (meaning kisses) is used, and younger kids are using ‘g’ (meaning j’ai, or I have) constantly.
